Jane leaned back so she could get a better look through the window. "B-books!" she exclaimed after seeing a billboard advertising used books. She raised her head higher and noticed another in the far distance. She turned to shout it out and saw Conrad struggling. Before she knew what she was doing, she kicked his foot and nudged her head towards the window. She wasn't sure if he'd actually see what she was motioning to, but she could at least give him a chance.

Skylar: Bouncing in her seat, she continued to scan the sides of the road for any signs or just, lettering of any kind. A lot of signs had been knocked down or vandalized, but most billboards and store signs were still up. It wasn't too long before - "C!!! Cars!!!" She grinned over triumphantly and saw Conrad straining to look out Jane's window. He looked so disconcerted that she almost laughed. Tough luck to those who weren't good at playing~~
She began scanning the outside again, trying so hard to get a glance... d, d, d....

Conrad was at such a loss. D... D..... D... waIT "DECA SHOES!" he exclaimed, pointing! After looking around and not finding an E, though, he figured he was out for the count. They had to stop to push a car out of the way anyway.

Jane frowned as she felt the car come to a stop. Must be car moving time. She'd been actually enjoying herself though, which made her frown deepen. She watched Skylar to see if she'd get out to help, in which case Jane would too. She really didn't think she'd be much help though, and breaking a nail wasn't on her agenda today.

Skylar: She tried not to sigh too long or loud when they had to get out and move a car. She only got out of the car because she knew that Lorna would get on to her. She could hear it now. "Blah blah blah, pull your own weight, blah blah blah, giving you room and board, blah blah blah, you cannot give a cat a pound of pudding, blah blah blah, I am the boss," and so on.
"E, Exit," she said, elbowing Conrad gently in the ribs and pointing. She considered the problem of the car, making a "hmm" noise and rubbing her chin, trying to think of an easier way to move it than (ugh) pushing it.

Conrad had already started pushing the car by the time Skylar had gotten outside, now that Rick had it in neutral. It wasn't even far they had to push it, and frankly he didn't understand why the girls had to help at all. Maybe he'd tell them they didn't have to. It wasn't that hard, it was just kinda time consuming. It was an easy push, partially downhill, and by the time it was out of the way, he'd totally bypassed a 'FORZA MOTORSPORTS' bumper sticker. He really wasn't good at this game.
Lorna, at Rick's request, kept the car running. It was a little faster to go on like this, but she still felt a little useless. When Rick got back in (he grunted while he did, though she couldn't blame him- two people pushing cars out of the way all day...) she glanced over at him like, 'I could have helped with that though,' and he waved her off. They'd gotten pretty good-- too good, actually, it kind of freaked Lorna out a little, at silent communication when they weren't arguing.
When everyone was in, she took off again. Looked to be a straight stretch for several miles.

Unfortunately, Jane did get out of the car. She just awkwardly stood around though, as it seemed Conrad and Rick had the car almost moved. She retreated back into the car before the others, trying not to make eye contact with Lorna. It wasn't that she didn't want to help, it was just that... she didn't want to help move cars.
As she waited for everyone to return, she stared out the window. Her eyes caught sight of a "GM" car, and if the other two hadn't already found something, she was so calling it. She pulled her legs up to her again and watched as the others got situated, wondering if they were there yet.
"General Motors," she called out quietly.

Skylar: The car turned out to be easy enough to push, even though they probably could have made it easier on themselves. She appreciated the chance to stretch her legs and took the long way around the car intentionally. She loaded herself into the seat, just in time to hear Jane's whisper.
"Oooh, it looks like we've got a sneaky one here!" she said, a light smile on her face. "Alright, if that's how it's gonna be, then good. The game is on!"
Six miles down the road, and she was now three letters behind and searching for a K. K's had always been her mortal enemy in this game.

Lorna couldn't even stand it anymore. "Karl's Diner was a mile back! You all are hopeless," she said, eye still concentrated on the road. Rick laughed, and Lorna just frowned more deeply. Conrad was still not doing so hot, not even by the time they got to the N's, when Lorna about gave up on listening to them play (apparently not well enough) and had joined in herself. Even Rick had called out 'Nook's Cranny' and laughed about it for some perverted reason probably before they got to the O's. Conrad was so done with this game, and was glad he wasn't competitive or it would have been an issue.

Moving past the Qs (she didn't even know how they'd found one), Jane searched for an R. She was pretty into it by now and was almost twisted completely back towards her window. And then there was a R- OH NO. It was so bad that she involuntarily cringed. She quickly flipped herself straight ahead and looked wide-eyed at the ground, hoping no one would notice the giant billboard with her giant face on it.

Skylar: She twisted every which way, craning her neck at painful angles to read signs as they zipped past them. She had almost caught up at one point, only to fall right back behind again. R, R, where was a stupid freaking R? She turned nearly completely backward in her seat, when the billboard caught her eye. Woah, haha, no way! How ironic! She was about to call it out when she caught Jane's wide, wide eyes. She sighed heavily, looking away. It seemed as though good karma struck her because - "R!!! Road may ice in cold weather!!!!" Several letters and six moved cars later, she was sighing, squishing her head against the window, eyes lazily scanning the road around them. Would they ever get there? Suddenly a sight caught her eye, and a faded blue sign. She would have leapt up if not for the seat belt restraining her. She pointed and called, "Walmart!!! W, W, W, W!!!!"

Conrad felt his seat wiggling before he realized fully what it meant that she found Walmart for W.
"NIIIIIIICE," he said finally, restraining the urge to yell. "About time!"
Lorna glanced over at Rick when she saw that the Walmart couldn't have been as deserted as they'd have hoped.
"Don' get too excited," Rick said quietly as Lorna nodded. "Looks like someone's been 'ere fer a while now." Conrad realized he was grinding his teeth as he reached down slowly for one of the guns in the floorboards. Rick carefully and silently took one of Lorna's pistols as they neared the parking lot.

Jane soon got over her embarrassment and grew into distaste. Walmart. It made her stomach curl. She couldn't help it after all the years of designer fashion, it was ingrained in her. Well, time to get over it.
It seemed that she might not have to when Rick commented on the not so empty parking lot. She couldn't decide if she should be happy or terrified. She settled on terrified and clutched the underside of the bench.

Skylar got out, following cautiously, her excitement battling with fear. She held her handgun out carefully, mostly for show. She was a decent shot by now, after so many months with Lorna, but she'd still rather avoid looking like an idiot or hurting one of her own team members by mistake. She followed behind Rick and Lorna, trying to keep low. To be fair, whoever was in there could be friendly, right? Despite whatever her past experience would tell her, it was possible! Wasn't it?

Unbeknownst to the group, a mile back a small group of walkers shambled in their direction, low moans escaping their throats as they headed towards the noise they'd heard pass by earlier.

Lorna led the team as she edged toward the door, making silent commands with hand gestures that were simple enough to understand. Stay low, stay put, follow me, things like that. She put her hand on the door only to have it whipped open for her. This startled her into pointing her gun at the girl who opened the door.
"Oh!" she exclaimed at Lorna's gun. She put her hands up nervously! "There's no need for violence! You can come in and take whatever you need-- in moderation!!" At this, Lorna lowered the gun slightly before repositioning it to aim at her again.
"Why wouldja jus' give dis stuff away? Yeh don' even know us," Rick asked more forcefully than Lorna felt was entirely necessary.
The girl backed in as Lorna edged her way in, and she still had her hands up when she replied, "We're not bad people, we know we have more than everyone else. As long as you're mindful that we need supplies too, we're willing to help you out! We're even willing to set up some sort of trade agreement if you're in the area. Things like water are needed badly here."
Several other people began making their way toward them, forming a circle. Some of them had weapons. Lorna looked around- it didn't seem like they wanted to fight- more like they wanted to defend. Their stances showed that clearly enough.
Lorna holstered her gun and made a motion that said 'everyone else do the same,' and Rick, eyes trained on the girl and those surrounding them, gave Lorna her gun back reluctantly. Conrad just sort of... put the gun in his pants like a gangster.
"This does change things," Lorna explained. "We'd expected to find this place empty, figured it was too far out of the way on roads untraveled to find anyone else here. We'd been expecting to get a haul from this place. I think it might be best if we just left- but we are able to trade water quite easily. I have a well and access to several springs beside that."
Someone else in the small crowd gasped. Another person said, "You have a well?" He moved around the girl and stuck out a hand for Lorna to shake. Everyone surrounding them immediately dropped and holstered their weapons- those that had none, merely relaxed.
"Ma'am," he said after an awkward pause of Lorna not shaking his hand, "We would be willing to give you just about anything for access to your well on occasion," he explained through a heavy southern accent. "And I mean that. We can discuss the details later. We'll get back to our duties, but here," he snapped and another person pushed an empty cart forward. "Please, take whatever you need."
Lorna blinked a few times, but Rick seized the cart as everyone began scattering. Once he found a clear space, he ran with the cart and rode it down one of the aisles yelling, "YEEEEEEEHAAAAAAWWWWWWW," in his Detroit accent. Lorna stepped forward as the man offered to show her around, especially where they were keeping some weapons.
Conrad looked around. Did they really just...? Well then. Alright. He turned to Skylar and Jane before jokingly bowing and pointing toward the store. "M'ladies? I bet ya'll would fancy a trip round this here Walmart," he said in a mocking tone, clearly referencing the man with the thick Southern accent. His arms were bent in such a way that they could each take his arm if they wanted, but he honestly didn't expect them to.
