"Heh. Something like that." He rubbed his neck and continued to the sports store. In all honesty, he was hoping to never HAVE to wear camo again, but if he had to, he had to. He'd gotten used to olive green and tan, though.
"Man, it's a Hibbett store. This stuff is super expensive- or, well, it was." The doors were locked when he got there. Sighing, he took out his gun and hit it hard against the window, successfully shattering it enough for him to reach in and unlock the doors. He looked around frantically, hoping they hadn't alerted any biters to their presence.
Once in, he yelped at the front counter where a cashier zombie turned to look at them. It reached for them and bit the air, thrashing and twisting slowly. Conrad, though losing control of his breathing, walked up to it.
"M-Must be... stuck or something...." He involuntarily leaned back, away from it as he spoke, which was all for the better since he saw a set of golf clubs when he did. "I can take it out... with th-that... if you don't want to with.... your hatchet...." he said, trying to force himself to take several deep breaths. They were shaky and uneven, but he was used to that. He reached for the golf club that looked the heaviest.

Skylar: she was about to let him handle it when she saw his face. He was pale, shaking, and looked like he might faint.
"I've got it." She said. She approached slowly. Looking around she found a toppled trash can. She poked up the lid and held it in front of her like a shield. She approached, laying her gun down and readying her hunting knife. She had left the hatchet Lorna was forever trying to get her to use in the car. It was probably more efficient, but at this point in time she was still used to her knife.
She stood for a minute, watching the stiff's movements very carefully. At what she judged to be the right moment, she lunged forward, knocking its arms out of the way and hitting it in the torso with the shield. It stunned the zombie just long enough for her to attack.
As her knife entered its eye, she felt fingers clumsily close around her hair. They relaxed quickly though. She pulled her knife out with a squelch and backed way quickly, her eyes and mouth clamped shut. She opened them once she was backed up. The zombie lay draped over the counter, motionless. She sighed and lowered her shield, looking down at herself.
"Damn!" She said sharply. Flecks of blood had gotten on her new sundress. "This is why I can't have anything nice."

Conrad looked around a minute and grinned when he saw SHOUT WIPES right where he thought they'd be. No one was worried about stains in the apocalypse when there were weapons and food to worry about more! He snagged a handful and tossed them to Skylar, ripping one open for her.
"These are miracle workers. It'll come right out." He left her to her devices as he eyed the under armor and moved past her, excited to find some that didn't have holes in it or blood or gunk stains.

Skylar: Gratefully she took the wipes, making clear sounds of delight as the stains did in fact come out rather quickly. She was left with a couple dark spots, but that made it easily the cleanest set of clothing she owned. She set the box on the counter, making a mental note to take it with her when she was done. She found a set of exercise equipment along one wall, calling a quip to Conrad who was raiding the underarmor for all its worth,
"D'you think we should take some of this?" There was no doubt that all of them easily got their daily exercise. The question was more if they were too active, if that was a thing. She was pretty sure it was a thing. She drifted on ahead, finding a row of ace bandages. "Score!" she piled them into her arms, also grabbing a couple Icy Hot pads and fungus creams - who knew, right? She walked over to where he was, balancing her finds and examining the underarmor.
"Why do you like this stuff so much, anyway? Should I get some?" she asked, for all the world like they were on a weekend shopping trip together.

Conrad: "Well..." he knew what he was about to say was really dumb and nerdy, but she asked. "It gives you an extra layer of protection, and we wore it in track because it makes you more aerodynamic." He very pointedly avoided her gaze as he rummaged through the rack.

Skylar: She tried not to laugh, and succeeded, but she did smirk.
"Aerodynamic?" she asked, putting her arms out like Superman. "Woooooosh," she said, dropping them back to her sides. She picked out a set of the female version anyway, since what he said actually did make sense. But maybe not the aerodynamic part. She looked through the store, but other than the sports medicines she'd found, she didn't see much else that was useful.
"So, want to hit the grocery store now?" she asked, one hand clamped on top of her stack to keep it all from toppling over.

Conrad had picked out a couple sets of underarmor and had a decent amount of shorts and shirts now, so he nodded.
"Yep. I'm perfectly happy with my haul from here. I did want to check one thing though..." He moved to one of the recreation aisles to see if they had what Lorna had suggested by might find. Unfortunately, though there had been an archery section at some point, it had been thoroughly plundered.
"Well that takes care of that. Sure, let's drop this stuff off and head that way."

Skylar: They trotted out together to the car. She didn't know exactly what he had been looking for, but she had seen the bent and battered 'Archery' sign over the shelves he'd been looking at.
"Looking to go Hawkeye?" She asked, jostling him with her shoulder. She deposited her findings in the back of the car, stopping and looking around carefully. The breeze tugged at and played with her hair, tickling her skin. No stiffs in sight. She turned with a grin to Conrad. "Shall we?" She asked grandly, starting off towards the grocery store. She sighed once inside. Thoroughly looted. Still, you never knew what you were going to find.
She walked along the aisles, poking a loaf of bread to find it harder than a rock. A spoiled carton of meat lay in a no longer refridgerated section, swarmed with flies. She made a face and moved away, looking for anything edible.

Conrad smiled crookedly. "Something like that," he said. In all actuality, he was pretty sure it was Rick going Hawkeye or the Fuhrer switching to something less terrifyingly loud.
He noted the way the wind and sunshine played with her hair. Very pointedly, he averted his eyes.
Once in the store, he headed immediately for the canned goods section with a cart. It had been very thoroughly looted, it was true, but he found several canned goods. Mostly beans of various kinds, but he even found some dented cans of decent things, like corn and even enchilada sauce. He had no idea what Rick was going to do with it, but it was on his part of the list for some bizarre reason. After getting every last can that was left (it wasn't much, maybe ten or fifteen cans), he made his way toward Skylar.
"So I found a bunch of different kinds of beans. Yippee."

Skylar: "Beautiful." She said deadpan, or as deadpan as she ever got. "Maybe Rick can make 7 bean dip. Or bean enchiladas." She quipped, noting the other can in his hand. She moved on, reaching the boxed section. Thoroughly pilfered, with one laying ripped open on the floor, blood staining the box and powder scattered around it. She was confused until she saw the half-destroyed body of a walker crammed under the shelves.
She looked around anyway and evemtually spotted a few boxes at the very back of the very highest shelf. She tried to reach them, stretching and hopping, but to no avail. She didn't trust the integrity of the shelving enough to stand on it. Probably why the boxes were still there in the first place.
"Conrad!" She called, fairly certain the boy was just an aisle over. "Give me a boost!"

Conrad had just been looking at a hardened loaf of bread and had been about to test its use as a weapon when Skylar had called for him. He set down the lethal loaf and dashed to the next aisle over, looking up at what she was determined to get.
"Yeah, okay," he said before very casually picking her up by the knees resulting in her basically sitting on one of his shoulders. She was actually pretty light, and her hips were narrow (though he'd never ever ever never say that out loud) so it worked pretty well. He had been about to interlock his fingers so she could stand on his hands but he was very extra unwilling to accidentally look up her sundress.

Skylar: She rested on his shoulder easily. It was kind of fun being carried, and although he wasn't as broad as Rick it was still broad enough, and his grip solid enough, that she didn't worry about falling. "You make a good chair." she quipped, smiling down at him." She reached up on top of the shelf, snagging the two boxes.
"Mac and cheese!" She called, naming their new treasure. She knew water would work fine instead of milk, but wondered how Rick would replace the butter. "You can let me down now,"

"Hmmmmmmmmm.... nah," Conrad decided as he started walking down the aisle with his captive left to brood atop his shoulder. "I think I'll keep you right there."

Skylar: She let out a short yelp as he began moving, clutching him with both hands. It was a lot harder staying balanced on the move. Once she had adjusted he laughed and let go, sitting straighter. She put a hand on top of his head.
"Very we'll, if you want to be my carriage, so be it." She said. Her hand moved down to rest on the opposite side of his neck. It was a much more stable hold.

Conrad subtly flinched when her hand fell to the spot between his neck and his shoulder, and he felt a slight blush creep up his face. However, he was determined not to get flustered.
"Actually, while I'm at it, there are probably other higher up shelves we could take a look at." He weaved down another aisle, ready to stop if she saw anything.
